Swartz Creek is a small city with a suburban feel outside Flint, MI. It was settled in 1836 as the Miller Settlement and got its current name in 1877. The city is named after the Swartz Creek, a tributary of the Flint River, which runs through the area. Incorporated as a city in December 1959, Swartz Creek includes parts of Gaines, Clayton, and Flint Townships.
